Star Runner: Dark Star Graphic Novel Released

by | Nov 11, 2021 | Press Release

Atlantis Studios announced today the release of Star Runner: Dark Star, the second chapter in the Star Runner Chronicles graphic novel series, and the sequel to this year’s popular Fallen Star. This follow-up adventure continues the story of Aurora Palmer, a rebellious teen girl born with strange, unpredictable powers, seeking the truth behind her mysterious past and the meaning of her alien origins.

Dark Star is the second volume of an ambitious five-volume series scheduled for release digitally and in print over the next few years. In the series, Aurora will travel from the halls of high school, to the inner rings of the Galaxy, and ultimately, to her destiny in the stars. Written by screenwriter James Watson, this star-spanning saga showcases top-notch artwork from leading professionals in the industry.

“This episode picks up where Fallen Star left off”, said series creator James Watson, “A few months have passed since those events and life for Aurora is returning to normal – as normal as it can be for a girl with her abilities.  When Aurora discovers she has hidden enemies, and mysterious dark powers that rival her own, she learns she must rely on her friends – and herself – in new and surprising ways.”

Dark Star will launch this month with a digital release through Amazon Kindle, and immediately in print via the Star Runner Comics website. The 96-page trade edition will be available to retailers starting in December, and available to pre-order to the comic book direct market in February.

The series is currently in development as a live action feature film Aurora: The Star Runner Chronicles, through a joint venture with New South Independent and Third Shift Media.
