Rising Star #1: A New Chapter in the Star Runner Chronicles!

by | Jan 18, 2022 | Press Release

Atlantis Studios announced today the release of Rising Star #1, the first issue of an ambitious new four-volume continuation of the Star Runner Chronicles saga. Rising Star is the second sequel to the science fiction graphic novel Fallen Star (2021) and Dark Star (2022), which introduced readers to Aurora Palmer, a rebellious teen girl with strange, unpredictable powers, and a desire to understand her true origins.

In Rising Star #1, Aurora’s powers have continued to mature, even as her longing to explore the world of her parents has grown stronger. While her friends help her take this dramatic new step, she has begun having troubling visions of the future. As the first test launch of her re-built starship approaches, Aurora finds herself increasingly concerned about what might await her in the stars.

“Rising Star is our most ambitious Star Runner comic yet” explained series creator James Watson, “we see the culmination of Aurora’s desires to know where she came from, but she still struggles with real-life emotions we might all feel in life-changing decisions. In Aurora’s case, the choices are cosmic in nature and may have long-lasting consequences for those she loves!”

The Star Runner Chronicles is a five-volume graphic novel series on sale digitally and in print through retail outlets. It follows its heroine Aurora from the halls of high school, to inner rings of the Galaxy, and ultimately, to her destiny in the stars. This star-spanning series is written by James Watson and features top-notch artwork from leading professionals in the industry.

The series has also been optioned for development into a live action feature film Aurora: The Star Runner Chronicles, through a joint venture with New South Independent and Third Shift Media.
